 Young Urban Entrepreneurs

Learning System

The YUE Learning System combines interactive online courses with follow up classroom-style workshops to create a unique interactive learning environment that is conducive to achievement.  Workshops are specifically constructed to demonstrate relevance of the online course material, encourage the growth and development of critical thinking skills, and allow for self-discovery. These learning solutions were created with input and direction from a collaborative partnership of educators, school guidance counselors, business owners, professional business coaches, business leaders and youth.

LeadershipSeeds© is an easy-to-use course designed to provide insights into situational leadership. The 10-lessons are highly interactive engaging, entertaining and educational. Leadership skills are taught through interaction with a virtual team of hip-hop youth who come together to form an Urban Youth Council. Different characters pop in and out of the interactive online lessons as participants decide which community issues they would like to resolve. The flexibility of self-paced web-based training provides individualized learning and allows students to employ a variety of learning styles as they navigate through the course. Lessons include the use of interactive graphics, audio, text, humor, classroom activities, quizzes and practical application of the knowledge gained.

7 Steps to Start-Up© offers a fascinating learning environment for young people aspiring to be entrepreneurs. Focusing on venture creation, this course provides hands-on experience as students learn the critical skills needed to start and grow a business.  A compete assessment tool helps participants match what they want to do with what they do best. This comprehensive course combines interactive online lessons with classroom instruction that focuses on small business fundamentals and business plan development. The content is presented at a reading level of eighth grade and beyond and is intended for advanced middle school, high school and adult students.
